Sixth grader accused of bringing THC gummies to school

One sixth grader was booked in the juvenile detention center and three other sixth graders were issued a summons for possession of contraband on school property after the four kids allegedly took THC gummies.

Officials say the EBRSO School Drug Task Force responded to a call at Southeast Middle School about four students taking THC gummies. One student was transported to the hospital for treatment in an abundance of caution.

The investigation revealed that a 12-year-old sixth grader brought the gummies to school and shared them with three other students allegedly at their request.

The 12-year-old was booked into juvenile detention for distribution of schedule I, violation of a controlled dangerous substance in a school zone and possession of marijuana.

Officials say the other three students were issued a summons and released to their parents. The investigation is ongoing.
