Sorrento man arrested in connection to 2021 double homicide

Devonte Leblanc, 21, of Sorrento was arrested in connection to a double homicide from March 2021.

On March 20, 2021, deputies responded to an area near Veterans Blvd. in Donaldsonville in reference to a homicide. That’s when deputies found Ejon Dabney, 21, and a 14-year-old female dead inside a vehicle. The vehicle had been shot several times and numerous bullet holes.

Three surviving victims were also in the vehicle.

Through further investigation, detectives identified Leblanc as a suspect, and an arrest warrant was issued.

LeBlanc was arrested July 7th and charged with two counts of first-degree murder, three counts of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal use of weapons.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office said additional arrests may be pending.
