Confusion leads to Baton Rouge Police headquarters’ evacuation

BATON ROUGE — It came across as a potential bomb threat that evacuated everyone from the Baton Rouge Police headquarters on Airline Hwy., sources confirm.

However, it now appears it was confusion that led up to officials thinking there was a real bomb threat and people were in danger, triggering the evacuation.

It was around Noon on Friday, June 16 when sources tell Unfiltered with Kiran that someone pulled up to a parking lot at BRPD headquarters at 9000 Airline Hwy. The man told officials he had just cleaned out a storage unit and found what he believed was C4.

C4 or Composition C4 is a high powered explosive and has been used by the military in war.

It’s why the threat was taken seriously and BRPD was evacuated.

The man loaded what he thought was C4, drove to BRPD headquarters to ask where he should dispose of it properly. However, sources now confirm the conversation was taken as the man had brought C4 to BRPD.

The entire building was evacuated as well as all parking lots. All employees will return to work.

The item was found to be some type of explosive training equipment.
