St. Francisville police officer charged after alleged bar fight

ST. FRANCISVILLE — A St. Francisville police officer was issued a misdemeanor summons on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023 after an alleged bar fight.

Officials say Alex Gremillion, who was off duty, was allegedly involved in a fight in a West Feliciana Parish bar on Friday night.

West Feliciana Parish Sheriff Brian Spillman said his deputies investigated the matter since it was outside of St. Francisville city limits.

Details of the fight and what led up to it have not been released at this time.

Gremillion was issued a misdemeanor summons for simple battery, according to the West Feliciana Sheriff’s Office.

UWK also reached out to St. Francisville Police Chief Randy Metz who said Gremillion is on administrative leave pending a discussion with SFPD’s attorney.

Gremillion began his employment at the SFPD in 2022.
