DENHAM SPRINGS, La. —- A St. Gabriel Police Officer is facing new charges after sheriff’s deputies say he shot and killed his estranged wife’s overnight visitor in Livingston Parish.
Andre Reddit, 27, was booked into EBR and was transferred to Livingston Parish where he is facing a second degree murder charge, obstruction of justice and a new charge of stalking. His bond is set at $275,000.
It was just after midnight on March 2nd when deputies with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Arcwood Dr. in Denham Springs for a home alarm going off.
“When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. He did not survive,” said LPSO Sheriff Jason Ard.
The man who died has been identified as Dylan Martin, 26, of Denham Springs.
LPSO said Redditt, a St. Gabriel police officer was off-duty at the time, and that he entered the home without permission.
“Redditt fired multiple rounds at the victim, who was a visitor at that home overnight,” said Sheriff Ard.
Redditt was injured with a stab wound and drove to a Baton Rouge hospital. That’s where he was arrested by EBRSO deputies.
He was booked into EBR and was transferred to Livingston Parish.
LPSO officials added stalking charges after the victim from a January incident came forward after Reddit was charged with murder. That victim alleges Reddit stalked them.
