BATON ROUGE — Around 10 a.m. Friday, the St. George Fire Department responded to a vehicle crashing into a home.
It happened in the 6300 block of Cross Gate Drive. The driver of the vehicle, who did not live at the home, had to be extricated out.
They were able to extract the driver from the vehicle, who was taken to a hospital. The driver’s current condition is unknown.
Two St. George Fire Department squads responded to the scene and helped stabilize the home after the driver was pulled out.
St. George rescue technicians made temporary supports for the house.
By creating temporary supports, the house structure was safe enough to remove the vehicle without more damage, according to the St. George Fire Department.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office also assisted on the scene.
