Santa Claus is coming to town with the St. George Fire Department beginning this Friday, Dec. 2, and continuing every night through Dec. 11.
Woodridge and Briarwood Estates were originally meant to be visited with Christmas merriment last night, but due to the poor weather Santa will begin his trip Friday.
Santa will ride atop one of the St. George Fire Department’s trucks up and down the roads of the community and throw candy to the children. Everyone is encouraged to come out and wave as Father Christmas makes his journey beginning at 6:00PM on weekdays, 10:00AM on Saturday and noon on Sunday.
The fire department has partnered with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and Garcia Roofing to give Santa his nightly sleigh-ride and collect non-perishable food and new, unopened toys.
Anyone who wishes to donate can leave their items in a bag in their driveway or hand their bag of donations to the volunteers.
DO NOT approach the fire truck- the volunteers will be in vehicles behind Santa and will be happy to collect the donations.
To ensure the children do not miss Santa or his Christmas magic, parents can use Santa GPS on the fire department’s website or their Facebook.
