GREENSBURG – St. Helena Parish deputies are investigating a domestic murder-suicide in which a husband and wife were killed.
On Friday, Oct. 11, the St. Helena Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare concern that revealed an apparent murder-suicide.
Deputies went to a home at 21127 Hwy. 43 in Greensburg around 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 11 to check on Billie Hayman Miller in response to a welfare check call.
Upon arrival, the deputies found both Billie Miller and Richard Miller Jr. dead.
After an investigation, it appears that Richard Miller Jr. shot and killed his wife, Billie Miller before shooting and killing himself, officials report.
This is among the latest of domestic violence crimes in our area. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
