St. Helena Parish election updates: Chutz wins sheriff’s race

GREENSBURG — The new sheriff in St. Helena Parish will be Clay Chutz.

Chutz earned 55 percent of the vote Saturday night, avoiding a run-off. Richard Womack was second with 23 percent.

The Clerk of Court race is heading to a runoff. Jeremy Williams earned 37 percent of the vote Saturday night and will face Toni Holland. Holland received 31 percent of the vote.

Assessor

Wesley Blades won the accessor race, earning 57 percent of the vote. Edward Galmon was the next with 25 percent.
