Louisiana State Police and several agencies are on the scene of a submerged big rig tanker truck. I-10 is down to one lane each east and westbound near the Ascension. & St. James parish line.
The scene is on I-10 westbound near mile marker 189 at the Ascension and St. James parish line.
The driver of the big rig was injured and is out of his truck. No other passengers were in the truck with him.
It doesn’t appear there are any other injuries at this time.
It’s unclear what led to the accident.
State Police will be leading the investigation. Drivers are urged to use caution when approaching the area or take an alternate route.
