State Police investigating West Feliciana deputy-involved shooting

The Louisiana State Police has been called in to investigate a deputy-involved shooting in West Feliciana Parish.

The shooting happened on June 24, 2022 around 6:00 pm in the Indian Mound area in West Feliciana Parish.

The preliminary investigation shows West Feliciana deputies responded to the second 911 call of the day involving a suspicious person in the Indian Mound area. 

LSP said as deputies were arriving on scene, the suspect engaged them with gunfire. The deputies returned fire, hitting the suspect, resulting in minor injuries. The suspect was later identified as Deandrick Brown, 24, of St. Francisville. 

The LSP Crime Lab is processing the scene.

Once Brown is released from the hospital, he will be booked into the West Feliciana Parish Jail. 

The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released when it is available.
