Toddler killed in deadly wreck on I-12

I-12 eastbound is shut down for now after a deadly wreck

DRIVER OF 18-WHEELER PREDRAG BISEVAC

Louisiana State Police troopers responded to a deadly wreck on I-12 eastbound in Livingston Parish that claimed the life of an 18-month-old child, Gael Pacheco of Baton Rouge.

The wreck happened around 8:30am around mile marker 32 (Albany) and involved a Ford F-150 and an 18-wheeler.

The preliminary investigation reveals the driver of the big rig, Predrag Bisevac, 60, of Lisle, IL, did not stop as he approached stopped traffic. Instead, troopers said Bisevac hit the back of the truck where the toddler was seated.

Despite the toddler being properly restrained, she did not survive her injuries. She was airlifted to a hospital where she died.

The driver and passenger of the Ford had moderate injuries.

Bisevac was buckled and had minor injuries. He’s now booked into the Livingston Parish Prison for negligent homicide and reckless driving.
