A Louisiana state trooper was placed on administrative leave following an off-duty DWI arrest in Atlanta on June 23, 2022, according to state police.
Aubin Young, 34, of Lake Charles was arrested and charged with DWI and other traffic-related charges following a traffic stop at around 2 a.m.
Young, who is a part of Troop D in the Lake Charles, has been with the Louisiana State Police since 2017.
Officials say the incident occurred when an Atlanta officer spotted Young traveling in the wrong direction on the street. After the officer stopped Young, he suspected the trooper was impaired. The officer conducted a series of sobriety tests before arresting Young.
Young was transported to the City of Atlanta Jail. Young will remain on administrative leave pending the investigation. The department recovered all of Young’s law enforcement equipment.
