Student arrested for terrorizing & forcing school on lockdown

BATON ROUGE — An Istrouma High student was arrested Thursday following a threat that placed the school on lockdown.

Officials say the student was on the phone speaking about a potential situation that staff members overheard.

The alleged threat the student mentioned was that her dad would come to the school to “shoot it up.”

The school was locked down while law enforcement had to respond to the school for additional safety. Meanwhile, the student was separated from everyone else as officials pieced together what was happening.

Officials then learned the student made the threat herself. She was arrested by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s deputies for terrorizing.
