DENHAM SPRINGS — A man wanted in connection to a home invasion in Baton Rouge was arrested in the middle of the road on Range Avenue in Denham Springs on Thursday and has since been charged by BRPD.
It was shortly before 4 p.m. when multiple agencies tracked down the wanted silver F150 on Range Avenue, near Seale Funeral Home, and took the man into custody. The agencies on scene included State Police, Baton Rouge Police, Denham Springs PD and Livingston Sheriff’s Office.
UWK has learned there was a home invasion at a home in the 3600 block of Ridgetop Dr. in Baton Rouge around 3:30 p.m. on July 23. That’s in The Hill neighborhood off of Jefferson Highway between Bluebonnet Blvd. and I-12. Details into the home invasion have not been released at this time.
The suspect in that case fled in a silver colored F150, sources told UWK. That’s when the suspect got on I-12 headed east into Livingston Parish. He got off at the Denham Springs, Range Ave. exit.
That’s when four different agencies spotted him and took him into custody.
He has been identified as Chad Hanisch, 52. He was detained in the Livingston Parish Prison for BRPD. Since then, BRPD has charged Hanisch with home invasion, resisting an officer, aggravated flight from an officer and entry on or remaining in places or on land after being forbidden.
No further details have been released.
