Suspect wanted in BR bus driver attack

BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police are searching for a 34-year-old woman accused of attacking a school bus driver on April 25.

The incident happened around 5:31 p.m. in the 4600 block of Bradley Street, according to police.

BRPD has issued an arrest warrant for Brittany Banks for her alleged involvement in the attack. Banks is wanted for battery of a school bus driver, second-degree battery, and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

BRPD detectives have already arrested Carlicia Lewis, 18, for her alleged involvement in the attack.

Police say Lewis and Banks were called to the scene after a student on the bus had a verbal argument with the bus driver. Lewis, Banks, and the student allegedly physically attacked the driver.

The driver suffered multiple injuries to her head, neck, and shoulder area.

Lewis was booked into the East Baton Rouge Prison for second-degree battery of a school bus driver and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
