Tangipahoa deputy arrested after allegedly showing juveniles inappropriate photos

HAMMOND — A Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s deputy was arrested today on charges of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile.

According to TPSO, Mike Johnson, 61, has been a deputy with the agency for almost four years. This week, the agency received information that during a security detail, Johnson allegedly showed inappropriate photos to juveniles.

He was immediately placed on administrative leave while deputies investigated the claim. Following the investigation, Johnson was fired and arrested on Nov. 21.

He was booked on four counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and one count of malfeasance in office.

The investigation is ongoing.
