TICKFAW — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested one person in connection to a string of vehicle-related crimes in the Tickfaw area that occurred over the weekend.
A 14-year-old male from the Tickfaw area has been booked in the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center on 15 counts of Vehicle Burglary and 2 counts of Possession of a Stolen Firearm. Additional charges are expected.
Because of his age, the teen has not been publicly identified.
Between the evening of Sept. 6 and the morning of Sept. 7, surveillance footage captured at least one suspect breaking into multiple vehicles in both Tickfaw and Hammond. According to officials, TPSO received more than 15 reports of vehicle break-ins on Chapel Road and Chandler Place in Hammond, including one incident where a firearm was stolen.
Investigators believe the incidents are connected.

The suspect is described as a tall, thin Black male wearing all-black clothing, a white face mask, blue gloves, blue and white shoes, and carrying a light blue backpack. In at least one video, the suspect appears to be holding a gun.
