BATON ROUGE — A 24-yr-old substitute teacher and coach was arrested after he’s accused of having sex & an intimate relationship with a 15-yr-old student from a school in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Detectives say Damien Clark sent numerous inappropriate and lewd text messages to the teen starting on Aug. 31, 2023. The victim’s guardian reported it to law enforcement on Sept. 11 when she found text messages that led her to believe the two were in an intimate relationship.
Clark was a contracted substitute ESS teacher as well as an assistant football coach at Woodlawn High School. Since his arrest, his contract has been terminated effective immediately.
Detectives say the two engaged in sex at least once and the teen gave the substitute teacher oral sex at least one time, according to arresting documents. One alleged incident is said to have taken place “in a room at the school,” according to documents.
The teacher & coach was arrested and questioned about the alleged intimate relationship with a student. He denied having sex with the teen and added that “he did text the victim, but he only texted about school items and sent no sexual messages.”
Clark is charged with molestation of a juvenile and indecent behavior with juveniles.
