A 19-year old man was arrested and charged after five people were shot at.
Jakeem Ramon Coler, of Thibodaux, was arrested Friday, June 3, 2022 in Thibodaux for allegedly shooting during an event in Napoleonville on May 13th, according to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a call of shots fired at a venue where a big event was taking place. When the deputies arrived, they found several shell casings in the building.
After an investigation, deputies said there was a fight that led up to the shooting. That’s when the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office said five people suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Coler is charged with two counts of attempted second degree murder, four counts of aggravated battery and a count each of illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities and cruelty to juveniles.
Coler is being held without bond.
I refuse to pass judgement on Jakeem until we’ve heard from his momma.
