ST. FRANCISVILLE —- A teenager died Saturday afternoon in an ATV crash in West Feliciana Parish.
The 14-year-old boy, whose name is not being released at this time, was killed when the ATV he was driving, was involved in a crash said West Feliciana Parish Sheriff Brian Spillman.
According to Sheriff Spillman, the boy was on private property in the Cheerful Valley area in St. Francisville when he drove into a ditch that was obscured by tall grass on Saturday, June 22.
“It appears the juvenile didn’t see the ditch and was ejected from the ATV upon impact,” said Sheriff Spillman.
Spillman said deputies and other first responders took over CPR from family members upon arrival at the scene and continued life-saving measures until they arrived at West Feliciana Hospital.
“Despite their best efforts, they were unable to save the young man,” said Spillman.
The teen’s name is being withheld at this time. No further details have been released at this time.
