The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office has two teens in custody following an incident where a woman was shot and killed.
It happened around 11 p.m on Oct. 12th at an apartment complex at 17505 Jefferson Hwy. Markeshia Stone, 33, was transported to the hospital for treatment, but later died.
When deputies responded to the scene, they were able to locate the suspect, a 16-year-old male, near the residence.
He was booked into Juvenile Detention for second-degree murder and juvenile in possession of a firearm.
Authorities say the shooter admitted to his involvement and told detectives that Stone’s 16-year-old relative solicited his help in killing her.
Detectives took the relative into custody where she confessed to her part in Stone’s death. She will be booked into Juvenile Detention for principal to second-degree murder.
This incident is still under investigation.
