Thief attempting to steal a vehicle ends up shot

Baton Rouge Police officers are investigating a stolen vehicle and shooting.

It happened around 10pm on Friday, April 8, 2022 on N. Foster Dr.  

A 27-yr-old told police officers he was leaving out of the Q Mart on N. Foster Dr. when he saw someone driving away in his vehicle.

The victim said when he confronted the person in his vehicle, that person pulled a gun on him. The victim said he also pulled out his gun and shot the person in his car.

The person shot, a 37-yr-old man, was taken to a hospital for his gunshot wound. He will most likely be charged once released from the hospital.
