After several people reported their vehicle broken into this week and theft of a vehicle in Watson in Livingston Parish, the New Orleans Police Dept. on behalf of the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested three people, one of them a juvenile.
A 15-yr-old juvenile from New Orleans was arrested as well as Craig Carr, 18, of New Orleans and Karneilus Coleman, 19, of Baton Rouge.
“Detectives with our armed robbery and burglary division were able to obtain information through investigation that led them to New Orleans. There, they located and recovered a stolen vehicle from Livingston Parish and tied three suspects to the theft of that stolen vehicle,” said Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard.
Homeowners sent in numerous videos and pictures through their surveillance cameras showing three individuals walking around and pulling on unlocked doors of vehicles.
One specific neighborhood hit was Hunstock Hills in Watson on Monday.
Both Carr & Coleman are charged with illegal possession of stolen things and unauthorized use of motor vehicle.
Officials cannot stress enough to please lock your vehicles, don’t leave anything of value in your vehicles, especially in plain view, make sure all your motion activated lights work and if you have surveillance cameras, make sure they’re set to record motion and pointed in the right direction.
“No matter where you live, if you commit a crime in Livingston Parish, we will work with our law enforcement partners to identify you and arrest you,” said Sheriff Ard.
