Three arrested after shooting in Donaldsonville

Three people have been arrested in connection to a shooting over the weekend in Donaldsonville.

Three people have been arrested in connection to a shooting in Donaldsonville on Feb. 11th around 9:45pm.

The shooting was near St. Vincent St. in Donaldsonville in Ascension Parish.

Upon arrival, Ascension Parish deputies saw a vehicle leaving the scene and conducted a traffic stop. The three people pictured above in the vehicle were arrested:

  • Blayne McCorkel, 21, of Denham Springs was charged with illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities/weapons law violation; Illegal carry of weapons/crime or CDS; and possession of MDMA
  • Jayla Thomas, 24, of Baton Rouge was charged with possession of marijuana over 14 grams; and illegal carry of weapons/crime or CDS
  • Katelyn Hebert, 19, of Baton Rouge was charged with possession of Schedule II CDS

During the investigation, detectives learned McCorkel, Thomas, and Hebert visited the area of St. Vincent St for a drug transaction, which resulted in gunfire. There were no reported injuries. This is an ongoing investigation. More arrest may be pending.
