HAMMOND — Three men were recently arrested on multiple drug and gun charges after a surveillance operation by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO). They were arrested after one man was spotted weighing marijuana.
On Friday, February 7, while conducting surveillance in an area reported to have suspicious activity, TPSO says their deputies saw a person weighting and packaging marijuana near a car. That’s when the deputies made a traffic stop, and found marijuana, a scale, pills and firearms in two different vehicles.
The three men arrested were Melvin Felder (26), Jordan Pocorobba (33), and Deandre Wheeler (30).
Felder was booked on one count each of possession with intent to distribute schedule I and V narcotics, possession of a firearm with controlled dangerous substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court.
Pocorobba was booked on one count each of possession with intent to distribute schedule I narcotics and possession of a firearm with controlled dangerous substances.
Wheeler was booked on one count each of possession of schedule I, schedule II, and schedule V narcotics.
In addition, following a search warrant for an apartment associated with Felder, additional marijuana, pills and guns, including an AK-47 style rifle were located.
All three suspects were then booked in connection with this case.
