Baton Rouge Police officers had a busy night responding to three separate shootings and it’s already starting as a busy Saturday morning.
That’s on top the three homicides on Friday, April 29, 2022 with a fourth person in surgery for injuries during a shooting. The first shooting on Friday left an 18-yr-old homeless man dead.
The most recent was just before 9am on Saturday, April 30, 2022 with a young man shot, possibly in the head. The shooting happened at N. 31st & North streets.
Prior to that around 2am on Mission Dr., someone was shot in the arm.
Then, around 1:30am on Saturday, April 30, 2022, a home in the 1900 block of Birch St. was ‘shot up’ with more than 30 shell casings found on the scene. Four people were inside the home at the time, a 4-yr-old toddler and three adults, who were almost hit.
Just last week, the same home on Birch St. was shot at in what was most likely a retaliation shooting after a homicide took place in the yard of the same home in late March.
Then around 11:45pm on Friday, there were two men shot on Peerless.
That means on Friday, there were six people shot in Baton Rouge, three of them died.
