BATON ROUGE — A two-year-old girl has died after she was rushed to a hospital in Baton Rouge for a gunshot wound to the chest and a 21-yr-old has been arrested.
It comes after East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s deputies and EMS responded to a shooting around 1:45 p.m. on Oct. 26 on Kennesaw Dr. off George O’neal Rd. in Baton Rouge. This is in the Shenandoah area of the city.
Early reports are that the two-year-old girl shot herself in the chest Thursday afternoon.

Officials confirmed the little girl was transported to the hospital in critical condition, but did not survive her injuries.
Her name has not been released at this time.
Ryan Davis, 21, was arrested and charged with negligent homicide. EBRSO says Davis admitted to leaving a loaded gun in the living room in an apartment. He then allegedly went upstairs. While upstairs, he heard the gunshot and ran downstairs to find the 2-yr-old shot. That’s when he called 911.
