Toddler critically injured in Friday crash now stable, criminal charges still pending

BATON ROUGE – A toddler, who was injured in a crash on Friday night and transported to the hospital, is now reported to be in stable condition, UWK has learned.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Millerville Rd. and Old Hammond Hwy. around 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 2.

Officials report that one vehicle T-boned another while trying to make a left from Old Hammond to Millerville. Neither driver was injured, but the toddler, who officials said was unrestrained, was thrown forward during the collision.

Initially in critical condition, the child was taken to Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge. However, officials say that the child’s condition is improving and is now “stable”.

There is no suspicion of impairment in the crash. Officials say that criminal charges are still pending.
