KENTWOOD — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is actively searching near Kentwood for a murder suspect from early April.
According to officials, Willie Elzy Wells, Jr., 32, is wanted on one count each of first-degree murder, armed
robbery and felon in possession of a firearm. Deputies are currently searching in the area of Highway 440 and Highway 1054 near the Tangipahoa River Bridge around Kentwood.
TPSO deputies responded around 1 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, to a shooting at a home in the 26000 block of Mount Hennan Cut Road in the Kentwood area. Antonio Famularo, 42, who lived at the home, was found dead at the scene.
Officials say the incident was related to an argument about drugs, and that Willie Elzy Wells Jr. is a suspect in the case.
Residents in this area are asked to call 911 immediately if Wells Jr. is spotted. TPSO has been searching for Wells since the murder.
