HAMMOND — The Tangipahoa Parish Coroner’s Office has confirmed that human remains located in Ponchatoula in September are those of a man reported missing in June 2025. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is reclassifying the case as a homicide.
James “Jimmy” Wood, 43, was last seen on surveillance video at the La 22 Mart on the corner of Highway 22 and Lee’s Landing in Ponchatoula on June 19, 2025. His relatives reported last speaking to him on June 21, and he was officially reported missing on June 25.
His car, keys, and other belongings were found at his home in the 40000 block of River Road in Ponchatoula, per TPSO.
