8 A.M. UPDATE: I-10 west at LA 415 is NOW OPEN. Traffic is no longer being detoured after crash on Atchafalaya basin.
BATON ROUGE — The Atchafalaya Basin is closed just past Butte LaRose due to a reported multi-vehicle crash.
As of 7 a.m., westbound traffic on I-10 is being diverted to exit at LA 415. Drivers can take LA 415 north to US 190 through Opelousas, then connect to I-49.
The congestion extends nearly three miles, and there is no estimated time for I-10 to reopen.
