Traffic Alert: I-12 reopens after crash shuts down eastbound lanes near Walker

UPDATE: The interstate has reopened as of 2:55 p.m. Delays continue from Livingston to Walker.

WALKER — I-12 eastbound between Walker and Livingston is shut down due to an accident that happened earlier in the afternoon.

DOTD is reporting that all lanes are blocked near mile marker 22, which is close to Satsuma Rd. Traffic cameras show the backups approaching the Walker exit.

According to the Livingston Police Department, crews are working on moving wreckage from the tree line. The interstate is expected to reopen by 3 p.m., however, crews will be on the scene to get the wreck cleared over the “next few hours”.
