Louisiana State Police troopers are asking for the public’s help in finding a vehicle involved in a deadly hit & run from Feb. 23, 2022 on Joor Rd.
LSP said it was after 11pm on Feb. 23 at the intersection of Joor Rd. & Greenwell Street in East Baton Rouge Parish. The crash killed 76-year-old Donald Schultz of Baton Rouge.
The initial investigation revealed the crash happened as Schultz was trying to cross the southbound lanes of Joor Rd when a suspected Chevrolet truck, Tahoe, or Suburban was traveling south on Joor Rd. and hit Schultz.
Schultz had serious injuries as a result of the crash. He was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. As part of the ongoing investigation, a toxicology sample was obtained from Schultz for analysis.
Based off of evidence collected at the scene, Troopers believe the vehicle that hit Shultz is a 2003-2017 Chevrolet truck, Tahoe, or Suburban. After hitting Shultz, the passenger side mirror housing was dislodged from the vehicle and left on the scene.
