UPDATE Nov. 2:
A second person has been arrested in connection to a severe beating from Oct. 16th in Ascension Parish.
On November 2, Ascension Parish Detectives arrested Marlana Stewart, 27, of Zachary, and charged her with principal to second-degree battery and principal to hit and run driving.
Stewart was the passenger in the vehicle with Bryan Cage when the alleged battery happened on Causey Rd.
Cage, 37, of Baton Rouge, was previously arrested on second-degree battery and hit and run charges in relation to this incident.
Scott Gray told Unfiltered with Kiran he was severely beat because his mirror touched another vehicle’s mirror.
“We slapped mirrors on Causey Road in Ascension Parish,” he recalled. “I pulled over to, you know, swap some insurance information. And she (passenger in the truck) got irate and wanted me to pay for that mirror. I said no one is paying for it. And he beat the crap out of me. He beat me unconscious. I didn’t even know where I was at.”
The 59-year-old suffered fractures to his left eye socket as well as his left cheekbone. He also suffered a serious concussion. He is slated for surgery on the broken bones once the swelling subsides.
The investigation so far reveals it was Oct. 16th around 8pm on Causey Road in Prairieville in Ascension Parish when Gray was headed to meet a friend.
Officials say they identified Cage as their suspect with the help of law enforcement technology. Cage did turn himself in on Thursday morning after deputies secured a warrant for his arrest.
