Two arrested after woman robbed at gunpoint, then shot

Baton Rouge police arrested two suspects accused of robbing and shooting a woman on Jan. 2.

Officers arrested Mouises Johnson, 33, and Laqeisha George, 34, on Jan. 5 for their alleged involvement in the armed robbery and shooting of a female victim in the 1200 block of Jim Taylor Drive.

The woman was on a CATS bus with the man she said allegedly robbed her. She got off to start walking home when the unknown man approached her on Jim Taylor Dr. in the Tigerland area.

The man demanded her purse while pointing a gun at her. She begged the man not to shoot her and gave him her purse.

Both suspects were booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for armed robbery and attempted first-degree murder. Johnson had two additional charges of illegal use of a weapon and violation of a protective order.
