Two people were arrested and three others issued summons after a large fight broke out at the Walmart at Cortina in Baton Rouge.
It happened around 10pm on June 19, 2022.
East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s deputies work extra duty at the Walmart. When they saw a large group starting to fight, deputies attempted to break it up, but that’s when officials said the group starting fighting the deputy.
One of the deputies sustained a minor injury of a bump to the head.
Two people were arrested after they were seen on surveillance cameras “striking the deputy.”
Kayley Carter, 21, and a 17-yr-old were arrested and charged with battery on a police officer, interference with the police investigation and disturbing the peace. The teen was booked into the juvenile detention center.
Three other people were given summons for disturbing the peace.
They’ll be back on the streets today!
