Two EBRSO deputies fired & arrested for double dipping

Two former EBRSO deputies were arrested Monday, June 6, 2022 accused of theft and malfeasance in office after both allegedly received payment for working an extra-duty security detail at a local business, but not staying on site as security.

Michael Arthur, 27, worked in Uniform Patrol for almost two years at EBRSO.

Andre Weber, 25, worked in Uniform Patrol for the past year and a half.

Both men are suspected of fraudulently receiving payment for security work as well as receiving payment for off-duty security work while simultaneously on-duty for the Sheriff’s Office.

Arthur is accused of theft of more than $5,000. Weber is accused of theft of less than $1,000.

After the Sheriff’s Office was made aware of the possible thefts last week, an internal investigation was conducted and both men were fired.

Detectives conducted a criminal investigation and arrested both men on the above charges.
