BATON ROUGE — Four people have been arrested in connection with the killing of Trevor Harrison, a plumber who was shot and killed while completing a job in February, Baton Rouge Police announced Wednesday.

Trevor Harrison, 27, of Central, was caught in the crossfire of a shootout on Fairfield Ave. on February 15. Police say Harrison was sitting in his truck when he was shot in the face. He died at the scene.
As UWK reported, the three adults and one juvenile arrested have alleged ties to a group known as the Shiesty Gang Kartel, or SGK. The gang is believed to be responsible for a series of auto thefts, vehicle burglaries, and at least one homicide.
Dakhire Matthews, 18, Steven Hackett, 18, Christian Hardesty, 17, and a juvenile female have all been charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, eight counts of aggravated criminal damage to property, and simple criminal damage to property.
BRPD says Matthews and Hardesty were arrested in Livingston Parish. Matthews has a prior arrest record that includes possession of a machine gun, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and resisting an officer, according to police. They also say Hackett was previously arrested for theft of a firearm.
BRPD says the arrests were part of a joint operation involving multiple agencies, including the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, the U.S. Marshals Task Force, and the ATF.
In addition to the four charged with murder, police announced several other arrests tied to SGK, both locally and in Georgia.
Harrison, a plumber by trade, had been working near the shooting scene and was in his work pickup truck at the time. His family says he was helping an elderly man in need, trying to save him money after the man was quoted $9,000 for plumbing repairs. Harrison was working to support himself and was set to graduate on March 7 with degrees in civil engineering and computer pipe design and drafting. He was at the top of his class and on the Dean’s List.

East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Sid Edwards released the following statement:
“Today, we commend the hard work and dedication of the Baton Rouge Police Department in bringing to justice the individuals responsible for the tragic killing of 27-year-old Trevor Harrison. Trevor was an innocent bystander, simply doing his job when his life was taken far too soon at 4660 Fairfields Avenue.
Our hearts are with Trevor’s family, friends, and colleagues as they continue to grieve this unimaginable loss. While no arrest can ever replace the presence of a loved one, we hope this development brings some measure of peace to the community, and to those who knew and cared for him.
This case is a solemn reminder of the tireless efforts our law enforcement officers put in every day—not just in this instance, but in every investigation that leads to justice being served. Their commitment to keeping our community safe and holding criminals accountable is unwavering, and for that, we are deeply grateful.

This is incredibly sad. An innocent man trying to help an elderly man, killed for no reason other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Praying for him, his family and friends. So very tragic
