ST. FRANCISVILLE — Two people from East Feliciana were arrested and booked into the West Feliciana Detention Center after allegedly stealing several rolls of copper wire from a construction site.
West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested 45-year-old Brandon Trafficano and 38-year-old Amy Rushing, both of Slaughter, in connection with copper theft. The pair is accused of stealing eight rolls of copper wire valued at approximately $1,400.
According to officials, Rushing allegedly posted the copper for sale on social media immediately following the theft, but then deleted the ad.
On Nov. 24, the two were identified at a scrap yard in Denham Springs attempting to sell 62 pounds of copper, per the West Feliciana Sheriff’s Office.
Both Trafficano and Rushing were charged with illegal possession of stolen things. Rushing was released on a $10,000 bond and Trafficano remains in jail at this time.
