Two separate shooting under investigation, one involves teen shot

BATON ROUGE — Law enforcement officials in Baton Rouge are investigating two separate shootings that took place Tuesday afternoon.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened on Maplewood Dr., off of Silverleaf Ave. around 4:45 p.m.

Early reports indicate it was two groups who had an argument when several rounds were fired off. A man was shot and transported to a hospital in critical condition.

Prior to that shooting, Baton Rouge Police officers responded to the 1400 block of N. 29th Street for a teenager who had been shot.

He was transported to Children’s Hospital after he was hit multiple times. His current condition was not readily available.

No further details have been provided on either shooting.

Anyone with information on the shootings is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP.
