Around 9:30pm on June 15th, Baton Rouge Police were told a woman showed up to an area hospital with a child shot.
It was later learned there was a shooting on Florida Blvd. at the Broadmoor Plantation Apartments. A woman was in a vehicle with her children when her car was shot at.

One of the children was hit by a bullet and the mother rushed the child to Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge. No word on what led up to the shooting or the condition of the child.
Then, around 10:30pm, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office responded to the 6600 block of Glen Echo Dr. for a shooting.

The victim was shot multiple times in the chest. He was transported to a hospital where he later died. He was identified as Garry Thomas, 22, of Baton Rouge.
Deputies did detain a woman Tuesday night, but after further investigation, officials said it appears it may have been self-defense. She was not arrested or charged.
EBRSO said Thomas and the woman were allegedly involved in a fight. That’s when witnesses told deputies Thomas pulled a gun and pointed it at the woman, which is when she allegedly shot Thomas multiple times.
Both investigations are ongoing and as more details are released, the story will be updated.
Anyone with information on the shootings can call Crime Stoppers & be eligible for a cash reward.
