Two-vehicle fiery crash in St. Gabriel leaves one dead

ST. GABRIEL — It was around 3am on Sunday, May 21, when St. Gabriel Police responded to a fiery crash.

It happened on Hwy. 30 near Hwy. 3115 in St. Gabriel in Iberville Parish.

Officials say when officers arrived on scene, they found two vehicles engulfed in flames. Once the flames were extinguished, officers found that one of the drivers had not been able to exit his vehicle and died on the scene.

That driver has been identified as 39-year-old Ronald Videau Jr., a native and lifelong resident of St. Gabriel.

The driver of the other vehicle managed to exit his vehicle and was transported to a local hospital with moderate to severe injuries.

The cause of the traffic crash is currently under investigation.
