PONCHATOULA —- The Ponchatoula Police Department, with assistance from Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, arrested three teenagers who officers believe are connected to a triple shooting. A fourth person, accused of helping the trio hide, was also arrested Monday.
It was July 20, when Ponchatoula Police officers responded to a shooting at Lakeside Circle. At the scene, officers found three victims. All three were transported to North Oaks Medical Center.
A 17-year-old, identified as Marvin Wells, died at the hospital. The two others injured include two men: a 17-year-old and a 59-year-old. Both were treated for their injuries and are in stable condition.
Ponchatoula Police detectives secured arrest warrants for three people: Julius Troyvon Glass Jr., 19, Kera Wolbers, 18, and Ray Delmer Carter, 16. Detectives received at tip that the three teens were hiding at a home on Olon Bankston Road in Kentwood on Monday.
Upon arrival, investigators confirmed the suspects were on the property and got a search warrant for the property. After a brief chase through a wooded area, Julius Glass Jr. and Kera Wolbers were taken into custody, officials reported.
Ray Carter was also found on the property and arrested without incident.
The trio is facing multiple charges including first-degree murder and attempted murder.
Officers also arrested the homeowner, 50-year-old Dorris Carter, for allegedly helping the trio hide from law enforcement. He’s charged with three counts of accessory after the fact (felony) and one count of failure to report the commission of certain felonies.
Detectives were able to locate the vehicle and firearm believed to be used in the shooting. Officials have not released further details into the shooting itself. The names of the other two victims have not been released.
