WEST BATON ROUGE — Two West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s deputies have been fired after they were arrested for two different incidents.
Brendan Dunbar, 23, was arrested after an incident during his shift in the West Baton Rouge Parish jail.
Dunbar is accused of unlawfully deploying pepper spray on an arrested person. WBRSO says he then allegedly falsified the events of what happened in his official report.
Dunbar was terminated. He had been with WBRSO since June 1, 2021.
In a separate case, Decoe Gillette, 43, was arrested by West Baton Rouge Parish Detectives for an incident while on duty in the West Baton Rouge Parish jail.
Gillette is accused of taking narcotics and contraband into the facility and an investigation was launched shortly thereafter. WBRSO says their investigation revealed that Gillette was in possession of narcotics and tobacco when she arrived for her shift.
Gillette had been employed with WBRSO for roughly four months having started on December 4, 2023. She has been terminated.
A booking photo was not provided due to Act No. 494, which places restrictions on mugshots released to the media for most offenses with exceptions for certain violent crimes.
