LIVINGSTON — The victim of a fatal two-vehicle crash near Colyell on Sunday is being remembered by family and friends.

Renato Perez was killed in a fiery crash at the intersection of S. Satsuma and Taylor Rd. Perez’s brother Franklin and another person were airlifted to a nearby hospital. A total of six people were in the two vehicles involved in the crash.

UWK has learned that Renato was in the car that burst into flames, but he and the other passengers were pulled from the vehicle before the fire erupted.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

According to a GoFundMe set up by friends of the family, Renato is remembered for his love of rodeos and cowboy hats, frogging and fishing, and going to the camp.

“He brightened our community with his smile and was loved by many,” friends said. “Our hearts are broken but to support him like he always supported us we are asking you to bless his family with whatever you can.”

There is a separate GoFundMe for Renato’s brother Franklin. Money from these donations will go to his family to cover medical expenses and to purchase a new car for him.
