Walker man arrested after deadly shooting in Livingston Parish

ALBANY — The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 68-yr-old man from Walker for a deadly shooting in Albany Saturday afternoon.

It was around 4pm on July 22 when LPSO deputies and Albany Police officers responded to the Tourist Information Center on Catholic Hall Rd. in Albany for a shooting.

Early reports indicate the shooting was a domestic case.

“At this time, we have determined this to be a domestic-related incident. Details remain under investigation. Medical officials confirm one male has died from his injuries,” said LPSO Sheriff Jason Ard.

LPSO identified the deceased as Barry Roussel, 67, of Ponchatoula.

Edward Paul Louque, 68, of Walker, has been arrested and charged with one count of second-degree murder.

The shooting did take place within the city limits of Albany, but LPSO is assisting with the investigation.

No further details have been released at this time including what specifically led up to the shooting.

The case remains under investigation.
