LIVINGSTON PARISH — Police officers in Texas recently arrested a Walker man on possession of child sex abuse materials. He was transferred to Livingston Parish and is currently at the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
Detectives with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office ICAC Task Force started investigating 33-year-old Cameron Broussard of Walker after receiving a cyber tip that he may be in possession of child sexual abuse materials.
With the help of the Attorney General’s Office, specifically the Louisiana Bureau of Investigations, LPSO’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigated Broussard and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Detectives learned that Broussard was temporarily working in Nederland, Texas. With the help of the Nederland Police Department, Broussard was arrested on 50 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material (under the ages of 13 years old). He was transported to the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
According to LPSO, during the investigation, additional charges were added because a local victim was identified and located. Broussard was also charged with eight counts of video voyeurism (victim under the age of 13). Further details cannot be released to protect the child’s identity.
