Walker man killed in two-vehicle crash

Just after 3:00 pm on Oct. 18th, Louisiana State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on LA 1024 east of LA 447 in Livingston Parish.

Freddie Minton of Walker, 81, died in the crash.

The initial investigation revealed that Minton was driving a 2011 Toyota Corolla south on Friendship Road.

At the same time, a 2000 Ford Excursion was headed west on LA 1024. For reasons still under investigation, Minton did not stop at the stop sign and was hit by the Ford Excursion.

Minton was not buckled at the time of the crash and died on the scene.
