WALKER — The Office of the State Fire Marshal arrested a Livingston Parish woman for allegedly setting fire to her home while her 11-year-old daughter was inside.
Lucille Holloway, 36, was arrested on Nov. 12 for one count each of aggravated arson, cruelty to a juvenile, insurance fraud, and misdemeanor theft for the fire set in late October.
On Saturday, Oct. 19, around 3 a.m. the Livingston Parish Fire District #4 responded to a house fire in the 36000 block of Nicholas Drive in Walker. According to officials, Holloway and her 11-year-old daughter were inside at the time of the fire but were able to escape.
In its investigation, SFM deputies learned the fire was intentionally set. Investigators received tips from the public via SFM’s Arson Hotline and discovered the home was in foreclosure. In addition, investigators learned Holloway had accepted financial assistance from a disaster relief organization after the fire.
After confirming that Holloway had filed an insurance claim for the damage, deputies obtained a warrant for her arrest. She was arrested on Nov. 12 and booked in connection with the case.
